Account Manager - Northeast; Southeast; Mid-Atlantic; Great Lakes
We have launched a search for an Account Manager with responsibility for client and account management, business development, and client satisfaction. Our Account Managers are experienced, detail-oriented relationship managers who leverage their subject matter expertise in A/P, accounting, and internal controls to lead engagements and become trusted advisors to our clients. Through successful teaming with Sales, Client Delivery, and Operations, Account Managers help drive software product penetration and audit services revenue in client engagements.
This position will be based remotely to be easily deployable to client sites; we’re flexible regarding the specific geographic location, but have preference for candidates in the Northeast, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, or Great Lakes areas.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Leverages domain expertise and best practice information to establish oneself as a trusted advisor to the client.
- Manages client activities and manages hand-offs to Client Delivery and U.S. Operations.
- Consolidates multiple project plans and reports results internally and externally through teaming with Sales, Audit Operations, and Client Delivery and Data.
- Communicates to client a number of deliverables, including client facing documents and reports such as Vendor Risk Analysis (VRA), Strategic Sourcing, and Management Assessment.
- In close partnership with the Sales team,identifies and manages upselling and additional opportunities, such as expanded audit scope, additional services and installation of software.
- Participates in external and internal advisory boards.
Job Requirements:
- Ten (10) years of experience in Accounts Payable, Audit Recover, Project Management and/or Client Management
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance; a MBA and/or CPA are preferred, a CAPP is a plus
- Significant core accounts payable, accounting, and internal controls knowledge
- Exceptional client and account management skills with the ability to lead successful client engagements
- Solid project management skills as exhibited by experience managing complex projects or several projects simultaneously
- Ability to balance tactical and strategic thinking to influence executive levels within both APEX Analytix and the client organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to identify varying needs within internal and external teams
- Solid problem solving skills in both technical and interpersonal situations to diagnose problems and identify and implement solutions
- Negation skills and the ability to manage conflict
- Outstanding presentation and verbal/written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to client sites

We are currently seeking an Assistant Retail Engagement Consultant to assist the Retail Engagement Consultant as the primary on-site client contact for APEX Analytix. Audit Advisor I - Commercial Division - Mid-Atlantic States; Central States
To support aggressive growth plans, our Commercial Division seeks an Audit Advisor I position with responsibility for reviewing client payment and purchasing transactions to identify exceptions or errors and for making recommendations to clients related to the enhancement of their procure-to-pay processes. This is an entry-level position into our Audit job family.
We currently have two openings for Audit Advisor I. Both positions require travel 60-70% of the time to client sites within a primary geographic region. The remaining 30-40% of the time is spent working from one's home office. The two geographic regions we are targeting include the Mid-Atlantic and Central regions of the U.S.
Primary Tasks/Activities:
- Participating in planning the audit engagement
- Analyzing reports generate by APEX FirstStrike software to identify recovery opportunities
- Completing on-site research to provide documenting evidence of potential claims
- Coordinating audit activities with other APEX functional areas
- Assisting in the preparation of final audit reports
- Maintaining strong client relations and satisfaction throughout engagement
Job Requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or auditing

Recovery Analyst - Greensboro, NC
Our growing Commercial Operations Division organization seeks a highly motivated Recovery Analyst to assist in the recovery process through consistent communication with vendors. This is a highly responsible position, as the ability of the Recovery Analyst to consistently complete claims directly impacts revenue and the overall success of the company.
Primary Tasks/Activities:
- Initiating and following through to resolution overpayment claims, as identified through a statements audit and/or Accounts Payable audit enabled by our FirstStrike software
- Updating claim information in the internal contact management system when documentation is received
- Contacting vendors via telephone/e-mail to initiate the recovery process and to provide necessary documentation to assist with claim resolution
- Partnering with other members of the audit team to keep the client apprised of the audit progress
- Producing necessary reports for vendors or internal staff according to the needs of the audit engagement and team
- Requesting necessary claim packages to be completed and forwarded to the client
Job Requirements:
- Two (2) years customer service, sales, credit, accounting or business related experience, three years experience preferred
- Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Vendor Risk Manager - Greensboro, NC
As a result of our aggressive growth plans, we currently seek a Greensboro-based Vendor Risk Manager to oversee our Client Analytics team in the provision of our Vendor Risk Analysis reports, as well as other key deliverables. The Vendor Risk Manager will also be responsible for analyzing our risk analysis research and reporting processes to create efficiencies; providing critical research and information to enhance our innovative risk identification software; and helping to promote our product and services.
Primary Task/Activities:
- Managing a group of analysts responsible for researching vendors with high risk attributes and preparing Vendor Risk Analysis reports
- Analyzing the risk analysis and other reporting processes to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance the productivity of the Client Analytics team
- Soliciting and collecting information on existing fraud cases from clients and outside research
- Identifying measurable elements in known fraud cases and making recommendations relative to utilizing technology to proactively identify risk
- Utilizing research and technology to continually learn and innovate with regard to the quality and value of our reporting services
- Sharing knowledge with team members to enhance the delivery of our services and software
- Serving as an internal subject matter expert (SME) to assist our Sales & Marketing team in promoting our risk assessment services and software
Job Requirements:
- At least five (5) years of progressively responsible corporate fraud experience, specializing in vendor fraud and compliance; prior Fortune 500 experience is preferred
- At least two (2) years of management experience leading a team of analysts involved in the production of reporting deliverables
- Bachelor’s degree; BS in Accounting or Criminal Justice preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) preferred
- Strong knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to apply that knowledge broadly to a variety of assignments
- Solid understanding of emerging areas of vendor risk
- Proven ability in analyzing control effectiveness and implementing control enhancements or process modifications with maximum effectiveness and business efficiency
- Exceptional report writing, analytical, statistical, and research skills
- Experience in data management (Access and SQL)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to interface with clients in a consultative manner
- Exceptional management and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team in consistently meeting reporting deadlines

Successful candidates will have an extensive track record in marketing software to senior executives. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing. This position requires extensive travel throughout one's assigned sales region.
Primary Activities/Objectives:
- Achieving assigned territory sales targets through direct selling of software and services
- Identifying potential customers and implementing plans to secure business
- Staying abreast of market trends and prepare forecasts on anticipated market sales
- Documenting sales activity
- Reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and developing sales campaigns to address business goals

Job Requirements:
